Baker/owner/operator Ted Garvey has been delighting family, friends, and customers with his famous scones and lemon curd since 1991. In the early 1990s, Ted was the proprietor of Scones, a well-loved San Jose restaurant, where he perfected his craft. Ted is a rare South Bay native (born at Mountain View hospital) who served in the United States Marine Corps and spent 20 years building high-profile corporate websites for Silicon Valley leaders like Symantec, Verisign, and Netscape/AOL before deciding to follow his passion back into baking. The name "Batch 58" was derived because it took Ted fifty-eight versions and variations until he came up with his signature scone recipe.
